Our Approach to Dermatology
Dr. Fabbro knows that dermatology is a science but also an art. She is up to date on the latest advancements in dermatology and the recommendations from evidence-based medicine, but will also have a conversation with you about your goals and needs before suggesting a treatment plan. Once all is going well, she will strive to keep you updated on any new options regarding your skin condition and will recommend whether or not she thinks a change to the treatment plan is needed. Dr. Fabbro acknowledges that she tends to be a perfectionist, and strives to get your skin looking in the absolute best condition that she can. Because of this, she may propose more aggressive treatment options or combination therapies.
She is energized by complex medical dermatology and figuring out conditions that may be more challenging to treat, and can do so in a multidisciplinary fashion if needed. After having been in Columbus for over ten years, Dr. Fabbro has amassed a team of collaborating doctors and consultants, whom she collaborates with on many patients and conditions. These include rheumatologists, allergists, oncologists, orthopedists, plastic surgeons, ophthalmologists, and other dermatologists. She will advocate for what is best not only for your skin but for your whole body.
Dr. Fabbro also loves surgical and procedural dermatology, but cosmetic dermatology generally is less of a priority. While she would be happy to answer any questions you may have regarding cosmetic procedures and does offer basic cosmetic treatments to her established patients, she doesn’t consider it a particular area of emphasis in her practice. If you require additional cosmetic services that are beyond what she offers, she is happy to make recommendations within her network of colleagues.
She values her patients’ time and strives to be mindful and time-efficient, and hopes you feel the same way. Dr. Fabbro puts a high emphasis on medical education as a way of giving back to the community, and often has dermatology residents and medical students with her in the clinic; she appreciates her patients’ willingness to participate in the advancement of the next generation of doctors.
